Interim Head of Payments, Central 1
Sunny joined Central 1 in September 2025, as VP of Product, with more than 15 years of experience driving innovation across banking, fintech and e-commerce. Prior to Central 1, he led Tangerine’s payments portfolio, overseeing Interac e-Transfer®, EFT, Visa Debit, Cheques and digital wallets, while shaping strategic roadmaps for Real-Time Rail and Open Banking. Sunny has also held senior roles at Wayfair, Scotiabank and CIBC, where he advanced global supplier financing, international money transfers and mobile wallet integrations. Most recently, Sunny was appointed Interim Head of Payments at Central 1.
He holds a Master of Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business and a Bachelor of Commerce from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, as well as executive leadership certification in AI from the Harvard Business School.
