The Position
As a key member of our leadership team, the Branch Manager will report directly to the Regional Manager of Branch Operations and play a pivotal role in spearheading the strategic direction of our Credit Union. Main Responsibilities & Focus
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team to achieve branch goals and objectives
- Foster a culture of member-centricity, ensuring exceptional service and building strong relationships with our valued members
- Oversees the overall branch function including both deposit and loan portfolios; coordinate and direct the activities of deposit and lending functions, including consumer and commercial credit, residential and commercial mortgages, asset quality, investment products and financial planning
- Develop and execute branch-level strategies to drive business growth, increase profitability, and enhance member satisfaction
- Maintain awareness of changes related to deposit and credit granting fields, including government regulation, technology, consumer needs and preferences, as well as product offerings and services offered by other financial institutions
- Collaborate with regional and corporate teams to ensure alignment and effective execution of organizational objectives
- Monitor member activity and effectively train staff on product and service promotions to ensure a high level of business retention
- Performs or oversees delegated Treasury Functions including determining cash needs of the branch and controlling vault cash
- Develop, recommend, and implement the annual capital and operating budgets for the branch; monitors performance results and takes corrective action as appropriate
- Processes member transactions, applications for loans, mortgages, lines of credit, overdrafts, credit cards, and overseas delinquency control and branch collection activities as required; responds to member inquiries and/or complaints and manages accordingly
- Ensures branch compliance with audit and security standards, policies and procedures, and loss prevention measures
The Person
The successful candidate will have completed a bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Business Administration or Commerce plus a minimum of six to nine years relevant experience including three to five years’ supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in credit management. The successful candidate will also have:
- Skilled in creating and executing effective work plans
- Ability to craft compelling sales strategies that drive results and exceed targets
- Master navigator of financial management, expertly steering our branch through the complexities of budgeting, expense management, and balance sheet optimization
- Expert knowledge of products and services, lending, and wealth management
- Risk savvy; mitigate risk and seize opportunities
- Strategic visionary; chart the course for success through strategic management activities
- Proficient with data systems, software applications and technology
- Ability to cultivate valuable partnerships and alliances
- An outgoing and self-motivated nature with strong work ethics
- Strong leadership skills and ability to coach, delegate and foster a team environment
- Mastery at cracking life’s toughest puzzles and making the smartest choices with top-notch decision making and problem-solving skills
