The Position
Join our team as a Digital Lending Officer at Atlantic Edge Credit Union, where you’ll help grow our lending portfolio, including dealer finance mortgages, loans, and deposits across all branches. Reporting to the Manager of Retail Services, you’ll build strong relationships with members and third parties, promoting our products and services with enthusiasm.

Main Responsibilities & Focus
- Efficiently manage loan applications and inquiries, assess financial status and creditworthiness, verify applicant details, and approve or refer loans within lending limits, ensuring prompt communication of decisions to members. Assist in compiling credit information to determine creditworthiness and establish credit limits. Tasks include obtaining credit reports, contacting businesses, legal counsel, former creditors, and personal references.
- Work with applicants to create tailored loan packages, negotiating rates, terms, and repayment options that suit their needs. You’ll ensure all agreements are accurate and compliant before funds are disbursed, making sure everything is in place for a smooth and timely loan closing.
- Proactively recommend new products and services that align with members’ financial goals. You’ll offer personalized financial counseling, such as debt consolidations, and guide members on available loan services and deposit products. When needed, you’ll also refer them to financial planning experts.
- Regularly visit dealers and mortgage brokers to nurture and strengthen relationships with our third-party partners.
- Stay current with policies and procedures, including updates and revisions. Suggest improvements and new procedures for loan and deposit products to keep everything running smoothly.
- Regularly update and maintain Member Records and Relationship Management Systems to ensure accuracy and efficient operations.
The Person
The successful candidate will have successfully completed a certificate or diploma in Business Administration or Commerce plus have three to five years’ related lending experience in a financial institution or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Lending Expertise: Strong background in lending practices, especially in a digital context.
- Business Insight: Use keen business acumen to make informed decisions and contribute to organizational success.
- Decisive: Make prompt, informed decisions to drive efficient lending processes.
- Organizational Skills: Efficiently manage digital lending tasks and client interactions to maintain streamlined operations.

- Salary range – $51,400 – $ 60,400
