The Position

Are you an experienced leader with a passion for driving results, developing teams, and delivering exceptional member service? Join our dynamic credit union as a Retail Services Manager! Reporting directly to the COO, this pivotal role focuses on the strategic growth and management of our retail credit and deposit portfolios. You’ll work at the intersection of innovation and operations, ensuring compliance, building strong relationships, and implementing impactful initiatives that align with our vision for growth and excellence.

With responsibility for a wide range of retail services, including lending, deposits, and staff development, you’ll have the opportunity to influence both day-to-day operations and long-term strategic outcomes. What You’ll Do

  • Foster a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and coach team members, set clear goals, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with HR and COO on recruitment, promotions, and department objectives.
  • Manage retail credit and deposit portfolios, ensuring risk management aligns with budget goals.
  • Conduct annual policy reviews and implement updates to maintain best practices.
  • Establish and oversee lending approval limits to ensure effective portfolio oversight.
  • Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to refine policies and procedures.
  • Lead initiatives to grow credit and deposit portfolios, increasing member engagement.
  • Collaborate on impactful lending and deposit campaigns with regional managers and member experience teams.
  • Serve as the primary contact for managing key business relationships.
  • Present portfolio trends and recommend strategies to the COO.
  • Partner with auditors to ensure compliance and manage audit responses.
  • Review product fees annually to maintain competitiveness and align with goals.
  • Deliver targeted training for lenders and branch managers on updated policies.
  • Oversee delinquency management, ensuring efficient processes and minimized risk.

The Person

The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader with a strong ability to inspire and guide teams while driving business growth. You bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Commerce, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in credit and collections within a financial institution, including supervisory responsibilities.
  • Proven expertise in lending, mortgage underwriting, credit analysis, and understanding of regulatory requirements.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, adept at mentoring and inspiring teams.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of retail banking products, services, and personal lending processes.
  • Strong judgment in lending decisions, paired with expertise in delinquency management and collections.
  • Strategic thinker with a solid grasp of fiscal management, data analysis, and portfolio growth strategies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to build and sustain strong business relationships.
